Our History

In September 1994 we opened our doors as RED DEER OUTREACH School in Parkland Mall. We quickly became known as "the school in the mall". We were in the mall for 5 years.

We spent the next 15 years (1999 - 2014) at Fiesta Plaza on Gaetz Ave South (#8, 5511 50 Ave ) Red Deer. In the beginning people knew it as "the old Taco Time location".  There was a lot of growth and change at this location.  Our population grew every school year,  Adult Learners were also growing in numbers resulting in an agreement with Alberta Works as an approved site.

The biggest changes occurred around 2012...We decided that we would change our name:
Chinook's Edge Career High School. It was also decided that at the end of our lease ( Aug 2014)  we would relocate to Gasoline Alley in Red Deer County.

2014 - 2015
Well...we didn't start out where we thought, the construction of our new location
took a bit longer than anticipated so we joined the staff and students of
Penhold Crossing school for the year. By the end of the year - the lease was signed and construction was well on the way.

JANUARY 15, 2016 ... Move in Day!!
A very exciting school year indeed!! We started the school year out in Penhold Crossing while we waited for the completion of our permanent facility in Gasoline Alley:
